Consumer of the future: meet your customer of 2022
#1
If society was already undergoing transformations in relation to modes of consumption, the coronavirus pandemic that began in 2020 only made these changes become even stronger. This is because people's outlook on life ended up changing its meaning. Issues such as well-being, comfort, emotional and financial stability, environmental interests, among other topics, will be one of the essential points for the consumer of the future when making any decision, including purchasing a product.

This new need was analyzed by the global research team at Worth Global Style Network (WGSN ) in the Consumer of the Future 2022 report , which identified four key consumer sentiments , in addition to the profiles that will be present in the following year.

To understand this new scenario and help you understand how to innovate in your shoe store, in this text we will talk precisely about these topics. Continue reading  whatsapp database and make your business even more relevant!

Key consumer sentiments of the future
The world is constantly changing and, consequently, people change with it. New things emerge every year, new topics are in focus, and consumers are inclined towards new consumption behavior .

However, before understanding current desires, it is necessary to understand their motivations, the feelings that caused certain needs to be abandoned and others to gain prominence in many people's routine.

The WGSN report managed to identify four of them: fear, social desynchronization, equitable resilience and radical optimism.

Fear
Watching the newspapers, it is possible to understand why fear is growing, especially in the financial and environmental aspects, which are scenarios full of uncertainty.

Political challenges, the climate crisis that is ravaging the world, economic uncertainties and, from 2020 onwards, the Covid-19 pandemic began to generate problems such as eco-anxiety — chronic concern about the consequences generated by global warming.

Environmental problems end up causing people a situation known as eco-anxiety.
Social desynchronization
In a common work model, people have schedules to adhere to. However, in recent years, working from home has made it possible for everyone to own their own time. This is one of the factors that caused the so-called social desynchronization, that is, people continue to do the same things, but at different times. The individual rhythm has changed.

At first, this may seem positive, and it is, but to a certain point. This desynchronization has been causing a lack of interaction between people. The sense of community is being lost, and common tasks like going to work or the gym are disappearing.

Equitable resilience
If fear and social desynchronization have negative aspects, to escape them people are developing equitable resilience, an ability to “resist, absorb, recover and adapt to adversity or change,” according to the research.

However, there is a paradox: for this to be possible, the person must have the ability to remain positive in challenging moments. However, it is not always by running away from challenges that we become victorious, but by facing them.
